    Summer Vilkins, LCSW

I am a former Division I soccer player and a dedicated mental health professional with a passion for supporting emerging and elite athletes. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Anthropology from St. Mary’s College of California, followed by a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Psychology, and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy—both from Pepperdine University.

My clinical journey began at a community mental health non-profit agency, where I worked with children, teens, adults, and facilitated anger management groups while also serving as a clinical supervisor. Today, I run a private practice in the Bay Area, primarily working with children, teens, and adults.

My true passion lies in helping emerging and elite athletes of all ages and genders navigate the unique pressures of athletic life, including challenges related to anxiety, self-esteem, and identity. I find great joy in supporting these athletes as they learn to strike a healthy balance between having fun in their sport and working hard to reach their goals.

As for specific sports, I’m most familiar with team sports such as soccer, softball/baseball, and basketball, but also have experience working with solo sport athletes.
